Sylwia P. Hodorek, Ph.D
Licensed Psychologist, Owner

I am a licensed psychologist with a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Indiana State University and the owner of Psychological Wellness Group. I was born in Poland and grew up in New York City. I also lived in Indiana and south Florida before moving to Tallahassee.

My goal has been to develop a psychology practice with a team of clinicians who are collaborative in their approach to therapy, are committed to helping clients, value social justice and are affirming of all identities. These themes are ones I also emphasize in my work with clients and am proud to be a part of such a team.

I am a generalist practitioner, which means that I work with various presenting concerns such as anxiety, depression and other mood disorders, relationship problems, identity development, life transitions, immigration related stressors, grief and loss, trauma, and chronic health issues. Presently I work with adults and adolescents and practice therapy using Cognitive-behavioral (CBT) and Interpersonal Process (IPT) approaches to therapy within a multicultural framework. In my approach to therapy, I aim to help clients explore their lived experience and ways the past has influenced their present and focus on ways they can move forward, resolve conflict, and live a fulfilling life. I also aim to develop a nurturing, authentic therapeutic relationship, in which clients can feel safe yet be challenged, and empowered to create change in their life.

I am happy to speak with you about how I may be of help and encourage you to reach out with any questions or for a consultation.

Melissa Hinely, Psy.D.
Licensed Psychologist

I am a licensed psychologist with a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Georgia Southern University. I was born and raised in Savannah, GA, and relocated to Statesboro, GA, for my undergraduate and graduate schooling. I then moved to Tallahassee, FL, to complete my doctoral training and have called the Big Bend my home ever since.

I strive to help my clients of all ages and backgrounds reduce the impact of various challenges on their day-to-day life. I work with children as young as 4 years old, adolescents, and adults. I enjoy working alongside clients that are experiencing grief and loss, relationship concerns, depression, anxiety, trauma, and ADHD.

In therapy, I am committed to collaborating with my clients and empowering them to reach their goals.

I often integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness and acceptance work, and solutions-focused interventions to help client’s meet their needs. With adolescents and adults, my work focuses on targeting unhelpful thinking patterns, behaviors, and underlying beliefs to help clients live a more value-driven life.

I also provide assessment (e.g., assessing for ADHD or other learning difficulties) to best fit your child’s needs and set them up for success in school, at home, and with their peers.  As well as adults hoping to learn more about themselves, whether that is to determine whether you have ADHD and are seeking accommodations in college or at work or if you are hoping to gain further insight into how your lived experiences are impacting you today.

I look forward to hearing from you and beginning this journey together!
